Lilker Associates is the design engineer for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection designs for the new Terminal 6 at JFK International Airport for JFK Millennium Partners and JetBlue Airway. This new 1.2 million-square-foot terminal is a design-build project that will include ten international gates with world-class amenities and services. The design includes more than 100,000 sq. ft. of commercial, dining, retail, lounges, and recreational spaces. Within the relatively narrow building footprint and very high, open public spaces, Lilker is tasked to create innovative ways to distribute the MEP/FP systems throughout the building. To support a LEED Gold objective, the project will encompass many sustainable aspects that include photovoltaic, rainwater harvesting, solar thermal and displacement ventilation systems. Upon completion, the sustainably designed facility will provide an optimized and unified experience for customers, airlines, and tenants, creating a world-class experience at America’s premier airports.
