The candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple business areas, including commercial and residential energy auditing, commissioning, retrocommissioning, and sustainability planning. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in the buildings sector, specifically relating to new construction commissioning, energy auditing, and Local Law 87 assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Review MEP systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and controls.
- Prepare commissioning documentation including commissioning plans, design/submittal reviews, pre-functional checklists, functional performance test plans, systems manuals, and training plans.
- Conduct site assessments to review installation of MEP systems
- Lead functional performance testing efforts
- Participate in technical meetings with clients, contractors, and engineering functional staff
- Complete Local Law 87 assessments including energy audit and retrocommissioning analysis.
- Conduct energy assessments and retrocommissioning analyses of existing buildings.
- Develop energy / greenhouse gas emission reduction measures and calculate energy, carbon, and cost savings.
Experience:
- Degree in engineering, environmental science, architecture, or related discipline
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with conducting Local Law 87 assessments in NYC
- Ability to analyze energy-savings measures using standard engineering formulas
- Experience leading commissioning efforts from pre-design through occupancy of the facility
- Ability to take initiative and work independently

- Proficient with technical writing
- Willing to travel to customer sites periodically
