With over 15 years at Lilker, Santiago’s expertise includes mechanical infrastructure systems design for both new construction and renovations for diverse building types, including public agencies, corporate, commercial, education, institutional and transportation facilities. The lead engineer of the mechanical department, Santiago is instrumental in the development of the departments mechanical design standards, AutoCad and Revit standards, specifications and overall building systems design quality. He is a resource of knowledge of the International and NYC mechanical building codes.
He has provided his skills on adaptive reuse and conversions to corporate spaces, replacement of main infrastructure systems, as well as serving as the base building engineer for many clients. Santiago’s responsibilities include mechanical systems design and selection, load projections, mechanical infrastructure analysis, and equipment specification reports, air and water delivery system sizing and design. He performs project management duties, coordination of disciplines within MEP trades, consultation and interfacing with architectural staff and owners on code and standards issues, and coordination of construction with contractors.
