The Powerhouse

The Powerhouse building is the result of the conversion of the former Pennsylvania Railroad Power Station, designed by McKim, Mead & White and built in 1909, which was responsible for generating electricity for the Long Island and Pennsylvania railroads. Located on 50th Avenue and Second Street, the 11-story, 240,000 sq. ft. historic landmark building now houses 178 condominium units, commercial space, luxury amenities and a community center. Among the amenities is the unique Aqua Grotto, a water oriented social common space featuring a large whirlpool and waterfall.
