Lilker provided engineering requirements for the relocation of Newsday Headquarters at 6 and 8 Corporate Center Drive, Melville, NY. Infrastructure and tenant improvements were performed across various floors of the two buildings (totaling 125,000 sq. ft.) and included the renovation of reception areas, newsrooms, conferencing and meeting rooms, and office support areas; renovated workspaces were comprised of a multitude of workstations, benching, support function areas (storage, special-use rooms etc.) collaboration areas, as well as a TV Insert Studio, MDF and IT support closets. Additional spaces were designed to include an auditorium capable of accommodating two thirds of the proposed 764 staff members, complete with a grab-and-go style café system with pantries.
