Associate Principal, Director–Plumbing and Fire Protection

Jose Rivera brings over twenty years of experience in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, residential and transportation facilities. He is well versed in the evaluation of projects for constructability and cost—from design through construction management—including documents and contractor proposal review, site visits and detailed cost estimating.

Mr. Rivera has worked extensively on many high profile projects in the New York metropolitan area. His credits include systems design for a new 11-story research building at Mount Sinai School of Medicine; condition survey and system design in conjunction with the utilities infrastructure upgrade and retail development projects at Grand Central Terminal; and the design of fire protection systems for three new buildings and integrated improvements to the existing systems at Hackensack Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ. In addition, Mr. Rivera provided design for the rehabilitation of the existing fire protection systems at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's historic music hall, as well as systems design for the NYC School Construction Authority, the State University of New York, NYU Medical Center, and the Columbia School of Journalism, among numerous others.

Mr. Rivera holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of New York, and is a member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and National Fire Protection Association.
