Michael Leonick


Vice President, Director, Electrical Department

Michael Leonick directs the day-to-day operations of the Electrical Department at Lilker Associates. He is an expert in power distribution, fire alarm, lighting, security and other low voltage systems, with over 20 years of experience in his field. He is instrumental in the development of Lilker’s departmental design standards, AutoCad standards and quality control.

Mr. Leonick has wide-ranging knowledge of electrical systems design for building types in the healthcare, institutional, educational, corporate interiors and transportation sectors. He has worked on many outstanding projects in the New York metropolitan area, including the New York University Medical Center, North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, Goodwill Games Swimming and Diving Complex, New York City Police Department facilities, the Woolworth Building and renovations for 6 World Trade Center. His significant transportation experience includes work on NYC Transit subway stations, Long Island Rail Road projects and bus terminals.

Mr. Leonick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Hofstra University and an Associate of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Nassau Community College. Licensed in the state of New York, he is an active member of the New York Fire Alarm Association (NYFAA) and regularly attends meetings to stay current with code requirements and Fire Department technical policy and procedures. He also has practical experience in the installation of fire alarm and security systems. Currently, he serves on the 2013 NYC Electrical Code Review and Interpretation Committee (ECRIC).
